Your privacy matters to us. Global Mood is designed to be used without accounts and without personal identification.

What we collect

• Anonymous emotion entries (emotion type and approximate area)
• Timestamps related to shared emotions
• An optional nickname you choose yourself
• Anonymous app usage statistics
• Notification preferences (stored locally on your device)

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or personal identifiers.

Location data

• Location is used only to display your emotion bubble on the global map
• A random 1–2km offset is applied to your coordinates — your exact location is never stored or shared
• You can hide your bubble from the map at any time in My Journal
• Location permission can be revoked in your device settings at any time

Emotion data

• Shared emotions are anonymous
• Emotion entries automatically expire after 30 days
• Older emotions gradually fade from the map

Personal reflections are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.

Profile and social features

• Your nickname is optional and chosen by you — it is visible to others when they tap your bubble
• Nicknames are automatically screened for inappropriate content
• If you enable map visibility, a summary of your emotion patterns is shared publicly
• A unique anonymous ID is generated for your device — no email or account required
• Following is voluntary — you receive a notification when someone follows you
• You can unfollow or block any user at any time from their profile
• "Send warmth" messages are stored temporarily (30 days) and then automatically deleted
• You can block any user — blocked users cannot see your profile or bubble, and you cannot see theirs
• Reported profiles are flagged for manual review

How we use data

We use anonymous data only to:

• Show global emotional patterns on the map
• Display real-time participation counts
• Improve app stability and performance
• Support a sense of shared emotional presence

We do not sell or share data with third parties. There are no ads.

Data retention

• Map bubbles expire after 30 days of inactivity
• Inbox messages auto-delete after 30 days
• Emotion history is stored locally on your device only
• Deleting the app removes all local data

Your control

• You can revoke location access at any time in device settings
• You can delete individual emotion entries from your journal
• You can hide your profile from the map at any time
• You can block or report any user at any time
• No account is required to use the app
• You can disable reminder notifications at any time

Data security

We apply technical and design measures to reduce identifiability and protect anonymity. No precise GPS coordinates are ever recorded or stored.
